PAL resumes flights to K.L. |
Flag carrier Philippine Airlines will resume flights to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Sunday, October 26, five years after operational and financial problems forced it to suspend the service, a PAL official said Saturday.
"PAL is gradually returning to its core markets and K.L. is an important part of that modest expansion,'' PAL president Avelino Zapanta said in a statement.
The company said the planned resumption of flights in May was postponed because of the severe acute respiratory syndrome that led to a dramatic drop in air travel across Asia.
The airline said there will be flights from Manila to Kuala Lumpur every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday with a return flight the next day. Boeing 737-300 jets will be used.
Kuala Lumpur is the airline's 23rd international destination and the fifth in Southeast Asia.
